I just hope my documented experiences will give others a warning as to what might happen if they take a chance.

These tree peonies are not colorful as promised, nor do I believe that either of their parents were a colorful variety. Without being able to know what ...Hello Christine,

Without being able to know what kind of peonies these are, I think my default answer would be no, as most peonies are not adventitious. There are only a few select varieties that have this capability.

When I get broken peices with my peony roots, I typically discard them. The only way it might grow is if it is a very large peice broken from the crown, usually having at least 1 red "eye" on it. If you don't see this, I would just throw them out.

Hope that helps!

AdrianaAdrianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00562979165630642210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218647513521394317.post-16343529751926364382022-02-04T18:06:17.447-05:002022-02-04T18:06:17.447-05:00Thank you for answering so many peony questions wi...Thank you for answering so many peony questions with satisfying pictures and specific details and rationale!Kendrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13432393725116220502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218647513521394317.post-66613204953165734602022-02-04T18:05:18.048-05:002022-02-04T18:05:18.048-05:00Thank you for answering so many peony questions I’...Thank you for answering so many peony questions I’m really satisfying detail!Kendrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13432393725116220502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218647513521394317.post-21653068999415108172022-01-26T22:44:18.669-05:002022-01-26T22:44:18.669-05:00Hi Adriana, I'm sad about your experience, but...Hi Adriana, I'm sad about your experience, but, please keep in mind DO NOT BUY ANY SEEDS OR PLANTS ON EBAY especially it's from China. I will have to keep thinking of ways to grow them! An experiment with planting intersectional peony stems with just a tiny amount of root on them seems to be successful. So if you have any that break off of a crown during division, be sure to plant those out, as I've had very good luck with those sprouting and growing into full size plants!Adrianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00562979165630642210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218647513521394317.post-85770092383197815092021-12-29T07:54:05.880-05:002021-12-29T07:54:05.880-05:00Hi Leya, I haven't found Intersectional Peonie...Hi Leya, I haven't found Intersectional Peonies (or single herbaceous peonies) to last very long in the vase. The petals seem to fall out after a few days. However this Intersectional Peony 'Gordon E. Simonson' might be a good one to try. The petals have really good substance, and it carries itself nicely overall. I must admit I have not tried placing this one in the vase yet. I just really like enjoying them in my garden! Also cutting them while they are still in a bud may help them last a tiny bit longer as well. Good luck!Adrianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00562979165630642210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218647513521394317.post-68814176520497579302021-12-29T07:48:50.877-05:002021-12-29T07:48:50.877-05:00Hello, I originally purchased this Peony obovata w...Hello, I originally purchased this Peony obovata willmottiae as a plant from Plant Delights Nursery (https://www.plantdelights.com/). It doesn't look like they have it offered on their web site at the moment, but they change their offerings every year. They have a really nice catalog. So you may want to ask to be added. Be careful, though, you will find so many plants you just "have to have"! Sometimes this happens anyway if you are planning to share the roots with friends! If it is so rampant that every stem on the plant was impacted, then I would say to remove the soil and throw it away too. If it was just one or two stems on a plant with many stems, hopefully just cutting out the infected parts and disposing of them in the trash will be enough. Good luck!!Adrianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00562979165630642210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218647513521394317.post-2858740384767737602021-12-29T07:33:09.828-05:002021-12-29T07:33:09.828-05:00Hi Melody, I hope you are able to get your peony g...Hi Melody, I hope you are able to get your peony garden started there in your new home!
